Welcome to the Hartland Town Band

Band at the Hartland Quay

We are a community

band from Hartland,

The Hartland Town Band is primarily a community service organisation.  Most of its members live in or close to Hartland.  However, we are fortunate to have active band members who come to the regular practices and perform at our scheduled activities who live in surrounding communities such as Welcome and the Morwenstow area extending out as far as Bude.  At special functions such as Carnival and concerts when we need assistance, band members from Bideford, Appledoor and Holsworthy Bands can be relied on to fill in.  Some members of the Hartland Town Band assist these bands when they call for help and regularly when the Holsworthy Town Band perform at Brass on the Grass in the summer during the Bude Music Festival.

As with many brass bands across the country, the median age of our membership is fairly high and rising.  We need new recruits, especially young people who will insure that the band survives.

We have part-time music teachers who teach new recruits at regular Training Band rehearsals. Some of the key senior band members attend and lend assistance in the learning process at Training Band rehearsals and lessons.

Although there are no Training Band rehearsals at the moment, those who have an interest in re-learning or starting out with an instrument such as a cornet, horn, baritone, euphonium, base or trombone, are welcome to contact the Training Band Musical Director -  Ros Toase.  Rosalind.Toase229(at)btinternet.com
